I made this image in the late eighties for my own amusement and to test the robustness of our raytracer - it took about three CPU months to render on a (now) ancient SGI. The scene is comprised of hundreds of colored glass spheres enclosed within a hollow chrome sphere, with several light sources. Crank that Ray Depth up to 11!
The piece is named "Space Grapes" because I couldn't think of a better name at the time.
