Psychotropic Salvation (detail)

In our culture, psychotropic drugs (such as Prozac and Ritalin) are looked upon as the answer to many of our problems. While such drugs are often useful, they are often posited (particularly by the pharmaceutical industry) as the one true path to happiness and wellness. This image is my commentary on the widespread view that we can only be made whole (saved, redeemed) solely through medication. This piece is a mosaic of Jesus Christ comprised of tiles of commonly prescribed psychotropic medications, ranging from Abilify to Zoloft.
